INTRODUCTION OF SELF
One of my great passions is serving others. Sometimes life can be challenging, and we may need help navigating the course. I consider it a great honor and privilege to partner with people and work through these life challenges. I believe people are experts in themselves, and together we have a great opportunity to overcome any obstacle life throws at us.
MY GOAL:
My goal is to serve others by equipping, encouraging, empowering, and guiding them through life’s trials so they might live their best life.
WHAT I OFFER:
I offer a welcoming, safe, non-judgmental environment for people to share, explore feelings and emotions, hurts and pains, and hopes and dreams. I am a compassionate therapist who loves people. I believe that working together we have the best opportunity to reach your goals.
MY COUNSELING APPROACH:
My counseling approach may be described as Clinically Descriptive, Biblically Prescriptive. By this I mean I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to counseling such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I then integrate these approaches with Biblical truths and principles to create a holistic approach to therapy.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
I am trained and experienced in the following:
Addictions/Substance Abuse
Anxiety
Depression
Grief & Loss
Trauma Recovery
Personal and Spiritual Development
Adults and Adolescents
ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
My professional journey began when I prayed for God to use me for His good and He answered my prayer with John 21:15-17. Through this answered prayer, God equipped me by leading me to Cornerstone University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership, then to Grand Rapids Theological Seminary where I earned a Master Degree in Counseling, and then to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where I earned a Doctorate Degree in Counseling.
My personal journey is a blessing of even greater joy. I have three beautiful grown daughters, and seven, gifted to our family by God, grandchildren. I enjoy playing guitar, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and pretty much any outdoor activity!
