Bryce Besson
I graduated from Cornerstone University with my bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology and Western Michigan University with my master’s degree in counseling psychology. I have been practicing counseling for about 2 years.
MY GOAL: My goal is to help kiddos and their families through challenging times while building confidence and tools to be successful after counseling.
WHAT I OFFER: I offer a warm, empathetic, and fun environment for families to ask questions, learn skills, and grow.
MY COUNSELING APPROACH: I use a wide range of techniques including play therapy, sand tray, art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, role play, talk therapy, and family therapy to help my clients and their families feel confident and safe when taking on the challenges that life brings.
AREAS OF FOCUS: . I primarily work with kids and adolescents ages 3-18. I also provide counseling to parents who struggle with parenting techniques and stressors that come with parenting. The primary areas I work with are ADHD, Autism, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders around life stressors. When working with parents I provide an opportunity to work through the concerns they have that come with parenting, helping to develop reward systems, teaching behavior modification techniques, and other parental strategies.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE: I am a superhero fanatic. My favorite superhero is Batman, but I love talking about any superhero and using them in therapy to help us learn about overcoming challenges and growing. I often describe the families I work with as superheroes, and I am just the sidekick providing the tools for them to overcome their challenges.
